Are You Ready to Go Camping

Now is the time to be getting ready for camping. Dust off the tent get the cooler out and clean it if you didn’t do it before it was put up. Count the tent stakes before you go, I don’t know how many times I have arrived at the camp site and had to use a makeshift stake because I lost one somewhere along the way. If your using propane when camping make sure you have backups. Sometimes buying supplies like that at the local camp store will cost 3 times as much then if you had brought them with you. We freeze milk jugs with water to use in our 5 day cooler which keeps down the cost of buying ice. On a 3 day camping trip we usually come home with ice still in the jugs. While on the cooler subject I cannot stress enough to make sure you have a critter proof latch on your cooler, raccoons a notorious for getting into the most secure coolers, we even had one that tried to drag ours off when he couldn’t get into it.

When it’s all said a done having a positive camping experience is what we all are striving for so a little hard work before will allow for a better tent camping trip. Remember one more thing and that is to leave your campsite the way you found it. Respect the outdoors so that it will be around long after we’re gone. We are the stewards of the land and all its animals.
